This year's UC Davis business plan competition winner was the S2E Energy founder who touted a thin, clear windowlike material said to conduct the sun's power more cheaply and efficiently than existing solar technology. 

S2E's founder and CEO Jon Servaites has a doctorate in materials science and engineering at Northwestern University, where the initial technology was developed for the S2E Energy solar cell. He's also a 2010 graduate of our Green Technology Entrepreneurship Academy, where he first recognized and developed the commercial potential of his research.
